Empower Me Journey

About the Creator

The Empower Me Emotional Regulation Toolkit was developed by Holly, an early childhood specialist teacher with extensive experience across early learning and school settings. I was inspired to create the toolkit after witnessing many children struggling to stay regulated across different learning environments.

 

I recognised a gap in resources that support children's ability to identify, understand, and manage their emotions in a  developmentally-appropriate way. Drawing on my expertise in interception, executive functioning, and the concept of the window of tolerance, I designed the toolkit to support children in building holistic body awareness.

 

The toolkit includes emotion cards that help children represent how they feel, what that might look like or feel like in their body, and strategies that may assist in returning to a more regulated state.

 

Unlike traditional laminated posters, this toolkit was created with sustainability and adaptability in mind-offering the ability to swap out sensory items based on children’s evolving preferences and needs.

What began as a vision to make a meaningful difference in educational setting has grown into a practical, child-centered resource that can be utilised in many different spaces.

 

I will continue to develop Empower Me with a strong commitment to quality, emotional development, and empowering children with the tools they need to thrive.
